Ward 42 has been refurbished

Another fantastic ward refurbishment has been completed this week as ward 42, an elderly care ward at the University Hospital of North Tees, has undergone a full transformation. Our team of skilled estates staff, painters and domestics worked alongside contractor Geoffrey Robinson Limited to complete this eight week project to get the ward to the highest possible standards.

Overseen by our design, development and project teams ward 42 now mirrors its adjacent ward which was refurbished only a few months prior. As well as having a full decant and deep clean, the ward has had new flooring throughout, complete redecoration, LED lighting, a new staff base, new store room and new doctors room.

Ward 42 now also has its own oasis suite, a room used to care for patients who are in the last stages of their life, the room allows patients families to stay with their loved ones in a calming, peaceful environment. The colourful decoration in patient bays and rooms not only lifts the spirits of the patients and staff but also make it easier for dementia patients to navigate around the ward more easily.

The ward has now been handed back over to the clinical staff and we hope they enjoy working in their fabulous new environment.
