Neil Atkinson
Managing Director, University Hospitals Tees Group
Neil Atkinson is the Managing Director for North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. Neil joined the organisation back in 2018 after holding senior positions, more latterly at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
Neil is the accountable officer for the Trust and holds responsibility for overseeing its strategic direction. He is responsible for providing leadership focusing on high quality patient care and effective use of resources. As accountable officer, he has a duty in ensuring the Trust meets its statutory and service obligations in line with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards of care.
An intrinsic part of Neil’s role is ensuring that he plays a key role in evolving strong strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including our colleagues in our Group model at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Neil is leading the organisation’s ambitions for a more aspirant Tees Valley health and care landscape. He is wholly committed to improving population health outcomes for our patients and the wider community, recognising the importance of true system working. This involves working with our key partners as part of our broader hospital Group model. These include our local authorities and other agencies, our Integrated Care System and the wider NHS.
Neil is a voting member of the NTH Solutions Board.
