Capital projects, Design & Development

Our highly specialised Capital, Property and Design & Development teams work closely together to manage and deliver the estates infrastructure element of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust’s capital programme.

A large part of that is overseeing major building projects including refurbishments, new construction projects, and monitoring and managing the structural elements of the buildings.

NTH Solutions has a dedicated capital projects Design & Development team which is responsible for managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, within tight timescales and financial limits.

This includes:

  • Provision of design services
  • End-to-end project management from design through to specification, procurement and building oversight
  • Completion of drawings and specifications for submission to Local Authority Planning, Building and Fire Authority Approval, including the design and specification of all required trades 
  • Production of surveys on the condition of the Trust’s estate, functional suitability, space utilisation and safety

This team is also responsible for the remediation of existing buildings where there is a complex development requirement, working closely with our Estates colleagues and external contractors.

Examples of some recent projects include:

  • Development of a new robotic theatre and emergency maternity theatre suite
  • Reconfiguration of the new Emergency Assessment Unit at North Tees
  • Development of a new A&E and Urgent Care centre at North Tees
  • Development of our Pathology facilities including installation of complex medical and diagnostic equipment
  • Development of a new Staff Welfare Unit for colleagues based at North Tees.

Property Management

Our dedicated and highly experienced Property team is responsible for all property matters related to the Trust’s internal and external estate, including space requests and effective utilisation of buildings.
