We were delighted to deliver our Royal Society of Public Health accredited training course to IPC nurses working in care homes across the Huddersfield area last week. The ultimate goal of the training was to demonstrate its incredible significance, in order to provide it more widely within the care home sector. The course teaches staff vital information such as the fundamental microbiology behind infection and contamination. It also ensures that they understand the importance of physical cleaning in care homes.
The IPC training course is as interactive as possible. It contains a range of multimedia sources, animations and quizzes to keep staff engaged throughout and can be delivered in a traditional classroom format or can be accessed via e-learning, meaning it can be accessed quicker and by a larger number of staff at one time.
The response that Dan Sullivan and Michelle Drea, NTH Solutions’ two trainers, received from the training attendees at Kirklees Council was brilliant. Staff commented that they found the session engaging, informative and relevant. Dan Sullivan commented:
“It was a pleasure to speak with the IPC leads today and I’m glad they saw the value in what we offer through our accredited course in Cleaning the NHS way. We want to help as many care home staff as possible, and this is a great opportunity to do just that.”
The course is now due to be delivered at the Care Home Special Interest Group Conference in May 2023.
