Today, 10th October, is World Mental Health Day 2023.
Have you met any of the wellbeing team here at NTH? If not then why not drop into the engagement hub to chat to Change Manager, Kerry Storey, who can let you know what wellbeing and mental health support is available.
Kerry joined the team in March this year, prior to this, Kerry was a production manager at an audio company which was a role she quite enjoyed.
Kerry decided to pursue a career in mental health when a family member suggested that she would be a great benefit for troubled individuals who would need a trusting person to talk to as she is also a very good listener.
So she decided to enrol on a course at college and loved it as she discovered a lot about herself from it, as well as meeting other people who were on a similar journey.
Kerry has extensive experience working in the mental health field. She is a trained Psychodynamic counsellor and specialises in CBT. St. Claire’s Hospice and MIND for Chester-Lee-Street are some of the organisations Kerry has worked for where, in the latter, she would take calls and speak to people experiencing anything from trauma to bereavement.
She loves attending workshops and networking events to gain better insight into the world of mental health and mental wellbeing. Currently, she is back to college training in clinical supervision.
Come and meet Kerry at our World Mental Health Day event today in the engagement hub in which she will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
To keep positive mental health, Kerry says the best thing for her to do is to stay open minded and that her close group of friends are there for her to talk to as trust is an important factor to opening up, which is something she knows she has in her friends.
In Kerry’s own words, “I’m here for you”.
