Coolnomix is a new cost effective and energy reducing air-conditioning unit that is easy to install and can be trialled for free in your organisation. Trials in North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust have shown a 33% reduction in energy consumption on four of our aging air-conditioning [AC] units, all from installing Coolnomix.
Coolnomix attaches to your original AC unit and uses a patented algorithimic technology to; make more efficient use of the unit’s energy, reduces energy consumption (reducing CO2 and financial costs) and ensures the performance of the unit is not affected. How Coolnomix works is both innovative and efficient, it interacts with the compressor inside your original air-con unit, using temperature sensors to reduce the compressor’s running time. The unit then consumes the leftover refrigerant inside the compressor which in turn smoothens the peaks of normal energy usage.
Steve Taylor, Head of Estates & Facilities at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust had this to say on the Trust’s introduction of Coolnomix:
“NT&HFT are no different to many other Trusts with an ageing estate and limited capital funding, so this product caught our eye as a low cost energy saving solution that can be retro-fitted to existing air conditioning plant. The energy savings made on our trial areas were surprising and beyond our expectations. I think this is a great low cost product that can help us on our journey to improve energy efficiency and achieve net zero carbon.”
We’ve found the units have a place in our route to Net Zero Carbon and are a relatively low-cost end of year capital budget spend option. We have a limited number of Coolnomix units in stock available to supply directly from NHS Trust to NHS Trust and these can be fitted to demonstrate cost-savings immediately.
