The first ‘Everybody Feels like Somebody’ awards evening was held last week, an evening to celebrate the fantastic achievements of colleagues across our organisation.
At the presentation held at Hardwick Hall, as well as recognising the outstanding dedication of our members of staff with more than 40 years service on the evening, 26 individuals and 9 teams were shortlisted in eight different categories. Our estates apprentices were also celebrated on their achievements in the apprentice of the year awards.
Compered by chairman Ian Simpson, Managing Director Mike Worden, opened the awards evening with: “It is an absolute honour and a privilege to welcome you all to NTH Solutions, first ever celebration ceremony. Everybody Feels like Somebody, is a value that I try and live, day in and day out and in your own ways, I know you must do too, or we simply would not be here tonight.
“As you will all appreciate, we are fundamentally entwined with our Trust colleagues and together we represent a huge organisation, we are the largest employer locally and combined we will have in excess of 5000 staff. 10,000s of thousands of patients, families and friends will come through our doors each year.
Mike continued: “So, why are we here tonight? Because, you are all somebody, and the many somebody’s here tonight have done some amazing things and it is well overdue for us to take the time to stand back and celebrate all your incredible work.
“In my experience there is a common behaviour within both high performing organisations, and also low performing organisations. This common behaviour is the “going the extra mile” action is normalised. In a poor organisation, this is often ignored, possibly even ridiculed, and in a good organisation this becomes the standard, however, in a great organisation it is both the standard and it is celebrated.
“And to summarise that is why we are here tonight. To recognise the somebody and to celebrate the incredible “extra mile” that you all demonstrate day in and day out.
It really is my honour and privilege to work alongside you all, and to be a part of this incredible organisation and family, which you have all helped create.”
A huge congratulations to the worthy winners and to all those nominated, we received over 100 nominations which is a great illustration of how our staff have taken the time to recognise and celebrate their colleagues.
