The clock is still ticking so we’re starting our compliance webinars. On the 4th November 2022, all primary care settings in receipt of NHS funding will be expected to be fully compliant with the updated National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021. GP’s, dentists, care homes, all will have to consider measures that were previously reserved only for acute Trusts.
The goal is laudable – to institute a standardised approach to cleanliness across all healthcare settings in England. The benefits it will bring to the public in terms of assurance and quality will be considerable and welcome in a country still scarred by the impact of the pandemic. Unfortunately the release of the Standards has become bogged down in confusion and anxiety as sites struggle to work out what compliance looks like or even if it applies to them at all.
Our national webinar series reached a four-figure audience when we launched it last year in an effort to cut through the confusion and deliver a clear, simple roadmap for compliance. The webinar was incredibly well-received with one attendee offering the following review:
These standards have caused a lot of stress amongst my colleagues, as we are just recovering slowly from work pressures from a pandemic and feel stressed about the role of implementing something that up till now Practices have let their domestic team oversee. Daniel made all the group feel that this was now within their reach and some of the group have begun the process and started to look at what this entails for their practices. Some practices are hoping to use the company to at least commence the programme
With no change in position from NHSE/I and with the November deadline looming ever closer, we have taken the decision to restart our webinar series to reach as many primary care sites as we can and help guide them through the process of becoming compliant.
